Nick Vincent Butt, hailing from Hamburg, PA, began his music journey by learning tenor saxophone at age 10 through
his school’s music program. He then meet Zach Hartman and joined his band. They wrote
all original material, and recorded three cds of original music. They performed all
over Berks and Schuykill County, also promoting Lee Hartman’s Rock School by going to
elementary and middle schools putting on clinics for the students with Mr. Hartman.
At age 11, Nick picked up the electric bass guitar and began the second phase of his
journey. He then joined another band at Rock School. At age 16, he joined a local band
and began to play some bars around Berks County. He joined another local band that
played the high school talent show that featured Metal icon Dee Snider.
During his senior year of high school, Nick applied to the prestigious Berklee College
of Music in Boston, MA. He started in 2007 and is graduating in 2011. He majored in
Professional Music concentrating on Metal, Brazilian, Latin, Country, and Rock n’ Roll.
He attended the International Music College in Freiburg, Germany in 2009 through
Berklee's study abroad program. While there, he meets some local musicians and they
performed at the JazzHaus Freiburg.
He was also a member of the Boston College Screaming Eagles Marching Band. He is a
Sousa. With them he performed at 2 ACC championships, Champs Sports Bowl, the National
Anthem at Fenway Park, the 75th Heisman Trophy Dinner, and numerous BC Eagles home and
road games.
After graduation, Nick will continue his musical studies through recording (solo and band projects), touring, and education on both electric and upright bass.
